Day 31

Affirmation:

I surrender all resistance and allow myself to be a natural part of the flow of life.

As a leaf upon the water… moving with the currents of the water and the wind, being connected to the flow but remaining above it.  There’s no need to paddle, anchor, fight the current, or resist the direction,  it’s much easier to move naturally along the path of least resistance. If we find ourselves stuck in a cove we can wait- knowing we’re there for a reason. If we bump into another leaf we can say hello- knowing our paths have crossed intentionally.  Without resistance we can flow through life with grace, faith and peace.

Day 30

Affirmation:

I love beyond fear.

I love with the fullness of my being.

I love with a complete commitment to loving.

I love without expectation, comparison, or attachment.

I love with surrender, vulnerability and daring.

I love for the sake of loving.

I love in the present.

I love.

To love with only half of one’s heart is an incomplete act.  Refraining from complete surrender is usually meant to protect one’s emotions and sense of self from some sort of possible threat.  It is much like sending only half of one’s army to battle, leaving the other half to defend the kingdom.  It may make sense to those whose only goal is to protect the empire but to those who wish to win the battle, all must be committed to the cause.   To love is to risk pain, perhaps even in the most melodramatic sense, ruin.   Yet to love and be loved is the very ache every heart longs to fulfill.  Every soul desires that the arrow of love pierce and impale itself in our hearts.  We want to win the battle most of all but to have complete love we must commit our hearts to giving love completely, in spite of its risks and in favor of its infinite rewards.   Yes, love hurts but there is no more sweeter wound than that which befalls the soldier on the battlefield of love.  There is no cause more worthy of our commitment.   And there is no greater victory than conquering fear and living in the spoils of true love.

Day 28

Affirmation:

Today I will do something completely and utterly pointless… just because.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day have-to’s, need-to’s, and must-do’s.  Using time efficiently, making every moment count, making sure everything has a purpose behind it- these are rationales that create our lives in this modern world.  Being productive and practical has its place, but so does giving ourselves permission to do something that has absolutely no obvious merit.  Admittedly, even the pointless has a point.  It frees us from regimental, well-defined and ultimately limiting thinking.  It creates a space – if only for a few minutes – where we can be spontaneous, curious, adventurous, creative and fully present in the here and now, fully alive and fully experiencing life. And if anyone asks why you did it,  smile and say “Just because.”

Day 27

Affirmation:

The foundation of my life is built from the inside out.

I consciously live my life upon a strong, enduring, and independent foundation of self-worth.

We can appreciate the opinions others have of us- both good and not so -but the opinions we have of ourselves are those from which we must cultivate our self-worth.  Valuing and validating ourselves based on the feedback of the external world makes for an unsteady, temporary and dependent foundation of self-worth.   In truth, the worth found in the feedback of others or the world is not self-worth at all, it is external-worth.   Self-worth is inner-worth, a sense of value that originates from within the self.   What the world thinks can support our feelings of self-worth but is an artificial and unstable source for them.

Day 26

Affirmation:

Each morning I begin again, alive with hope, determination, and courage.

I awaken to each day as if awakening to another incarnation.

Every new day delivers the promise of full potential.  Each morning is the start of a new, 24-hour lifetime.  No matter what setbacks or disappointments yesterday brought, a new day promises new opportunities and every chance to start again- in love, hope, courage, faith, determination, and empowerment.

Day 25

Affirmation:

My glass is FULL and my life abundant.

I accept only the fullness of All-That-Is and is possible for myself and my life.

If one sees the glass of their life as half-empty they’re a pessimist.

If one sees the glass of their life as half-full they’re an optimist.

But even the glass that’s half-full can be seen as half-empty with a slight and simple turn of the head (change in perspective) so beginning today let’s see the glass as only *full*.  Half of something just isn’t good enough anymore!

If the glass of our life is half-empty we’re pessimistic.
If the glass of our life is half-full we’re optimistic.

If we see the glass of our life as full we’re living an abundant, prosperous and grateful journey.

Day 24

Affirmation:

I trust my feelings and emotions as part of my inner guidance.

If a situation or choice feels right to me, I know it is right for me.

We each have an inner guidance system that helps us navigate through life and toward our fullest potential.  Our feelings tell us if we’re working with or against that guidance.   Tension or ease, expansion or restriction, blocked or allowing, comfort or stress, relief or uncertainty….these are some of the feelings that tell us if we are working in harmony with our inner guidance or not.   Our feelings tell us if someone we meet might be a positive influence in our lives, or if we should be cautious.  Our feelings tell us when it’s safe to walk alone and when we should choose a different direction.  Our feelings can even tell us which house to buy- “It just feels like home.”  It’s always in our best interest to trust our inner guidance and our feelings- if a situation or choice feels uncomfortable it’s important not to override that feeling with reason and analysis.  When we have to select between two options and don’t know which is best, our feelings are an excellent gauge. By using our imaginations we can test-drive our choices and see which one feels right.  The better choice will produce the better feeling.

Day 23

Affirmation:

Every step I take is part of my sacred journey, without exception.

I honour my living as a sacred excursion.

Whether dancing dutifully with the ordinary or mindfully engaged in the esoteric, every single step that you take is part of your sacred journey.   Our physical lives are the journey of a soul collecting experience and expanding.  They are the journey of the Divine, masquerading in form, in search of Itself.   They are the journey of a body, a heart, and mind, working with the Universe to create a blueprint of creation for the next generation, and the next, and the next.    There is no step, however muddy or mundane, that diminishes the sacrosanctity of the entire journey.   Revere and honour it all-every struggle, every triumph, every divine inspiration, and every swept floor-for these are the life experience souvenirs of your sacred journey.

Day 22

Affirmation:

Today I intend to see the world as a playground where I will let my inner child out to play.

The inner child is often only given his or her due consideration when an issue is being worked through or a trauma is being healed.   Few have escaped childhood without some emotional wound- and while it’s valuable to reclaim and love that inner child into our healing- he or she can offer us something else, something equally valuable.  That little boy or little girl who permanently resides in each of us doesn’t just hold pain, he or she also holds joy, abandon, wonder, and a true sense of play.   Let’s not only hold those inner children as precious victims but also as mighty examples of how to live life fully.  Let’s let our inner little boys and girls go out today and have some fun.  Let them remind us how to laugh at ourselves, how to make messes we can be proud of and how to be generous and forgiving.

Day 21

Affirmation:

There is no obstacle that can’t be overcome.

There is no problem without a solution.

I will not be diminished by my circumstances.

As frustrating as roadblocks in life can be, there are none that can’t be overcome.  If met with an obstacle in our path we can look for ways around, over, or even under it.  If still no solution is apparent, we can seek Divine guidance and trust that a way to handle the situation will reveal itself.  Most of the time we don’t really need to rush to find an answer – though we might think we do – and forcing one is rarely helpful in the long-term . Remember, if we worry or fight against a problem we only create resistance to finding a positive outcome but if we can approach it with an empowered and calm surety we create an opening for a solution to be known and a way forward to be shown.

Day 20

Affirmation:

I am grateful for every blessing in my life, big or small.

I am grateful for every blessing disguised as a challenge.

I express my gratitude often, both silently and aloud.

I make feeling grateful a habit.

Running water and a running car, friends and family, clothes and comfort; a desk, a computer, a light to see by and fingers to type with; the re$ources needed to enjoy life, be safe, eat well and sleep in peace; time, space, soul and heart; love and longing, naysayers and roadblocks, clouds and sun and soil and rain; seed to feed to birds, ears to hear their songs, and a mouth to smile at the loveliness of it all…..

Day 19

Affirmation:

I put my attention today on that which is abundant, prosperous and joyous, thereby planting the seeds that tomorrow may bring abundance, prosperity and joy.

Sometimes it’s hard for the mind to step out of what it sees as an inevitable reality (such as a future of doom and gloom) in order to realize that there is no inevitable reality.  Tomorrow only exists in the mind and it is being created by the seeds that our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are planting today.  To stop the process of creating a future we don’t want to experience, we must begin by imagining the future we want today.   We cannot plant turnip seeds if we want daisies to bloom tomorrow.

Day 18

Affirmation:

Right now, right here, I am strong, determined and unwilling to let fear undermine my author-ity.

I refuse to allow fear to disable my creative potential.

I refuse to let fear dis-able me.

I choose to move beyond fear and into my potential.

Imagine a fear-full person preparing to skydive.  He stands in the doorway of the plane, holding on to whatever will keep him safely in the plane.  He’s rigid, rooted in place, unable to take that step out of the plane.  He is paralyzed by his fear, and in that moment, all potential is disabled.  All forward motion is stopped.  No progress can be made.  His fear has dis-abled him.  In the very same way, fear has the potential to dis-able us in our ordinary, day-to-day lives.  We are the authors, creators and inventors of our lives but when in fear, all potential is frozen.  We can not move forward.  We can not jump into life with enthusiasm.  We can not experience the abundant, joy-full, loving experiences that are waiting for us. But in spite of our fears, we have choices and we can choose to push ourselves beyond our fear and into our potential.

Day 17

Affirmation:

I am alive.

I am in perfect health and no one can tell me otherwise.

Every part of my body, every cell is operating for my best interest and well-being.

I am slim and strong and vital.

Illness, disease and discomfort have no place in my life and no longer exist for me.

I am youthful and in a constant state of rejuvenation.

This is not an affirmation based on denial or fantasy.  It’s an affirmation based on creating an emotional paradigm or inner reality that – if fully believed, affirmed and supported with right action – can become physical reality.

If we live with an emotional paradigm of physical suffering and ailments, our actions and choices will sabotage any desires we may have for well-being.  If we live with an emotional paradigm of illness, everything we do – however unconscious – will support our becoming or staying ill.  But when we shift that paradigm to one of health, wellness, and vitality we find ourselves joyfully, easily and often unconsciously taking action to support being healthy, well and vital.  When we take control of the paradigm from which we experience physicality we become empowered in our health. This affirmation may not assert where we are right now, but it is the first step toward where we all want to be.

Day 16

Affirmation:

I see miracles everywhere.

I see all miracles as created equal.

I am humbled and awed by the miracles of life and existence that are all around me.

I welcome all miracles into my experience.

I am grateful for the miracles in my life.

There are no small miracles.  There are no big miracles.  To the universal font of creation a life-saving healing is no bigger or greater an occurrence than a fortuitous encounter on the street.   Creation does not know the limits of more and less because creation It-self is limitless.  All creation is equally meaningful to its Creator.  Humans assign degrees of importance, worth, and value to acts of creation because we think in terms of judgment, limitation and duality.  The Universe does not.  From a non-physical perspective, every encounter, every birth, every happenstance, every synchronicity, every bit of support made manifest is just as grand and meaningful as every other.

We don’t have to limit ourselves and our thinking either. We can learn to think like the Universe.  The job, the relationship, the healing, the purpose, the resources, the human being, the ant, the quiet moment, the parking space up front, the coupon for free gas, the feather, and the cloud can all be embraced equally without measuring one against the other.  When we view our experiences and the world as independent of  all else – without comparing or thinking of bigger or smaller, lesser or greater- we see each as meaningful and miraculous- period.

Day 15

Affirmation:

Today I will stop during my day to center myself in the *experience* of living.

Be-ing is important to me, and I make it a priority.

I am not just a participant of my life, I am an observer of the participant.

Thinking and doing are the inevitable result of being alive and human.  We are thinking and doing creatures.  We are also creatures that are capable of experiencing existence within stillness, awareness and presence, through a type of non-action called be-ing-ness.   Be-ing is the result of stopping thought and ceasing action long enough to surrender to the experience of experiencing, becoming an observer, and allowing life to happen without discomfort or resistance.   Be-ing is as important to our inner harmony and physical wellness as thinking and doing.   Be in awe.  Be in the moment.  Be in harmony.  Be in the presence of the Divine.  Be still.  Be at peace.  Be in your heart.  Be in love.  Just BE…

Day 14

Affirmation:

I am ever grateful to a Universe that never fails to ensure I have support.

I am grateful to those who show up in my life to help me overcome challenges and sort through life’s confusion.

I walk my journey always with the support of at least one other loving soul, to whom I am grateful.

This brilliant, loving, Divine Universe never allows us to find ourselves in the middle of an issue, struggle, challenge, obstacle, difficulty, trauma or heartache without ensuring that we have at least one human companion to help us through.  That person may be a stranger with sage wisdom or brute strength, or it may be a beloved with time to listen.  They may be in our lives only to help us through that problem, or they might be or become a lifelong friend.  We may feel totally and utterly alone in the world, but there is always someone, somewhere in our experience, who is there specifically to help.  The key is to allow our earth angel into our experience.  We can’t be so stuck in feelings of isolation that we do not see or hear their presence.  They are there, waiting for us to give them an opening.  No matter how hard life gets, remember- somewhere in the world is at least one person, sent and ready to help, when we are ready to receive.

Day 12

Affirmation:

I release my desire to control.

I release my desire to resist.

I live my life with flexibility.

I live my life with a willingness to bend.

A sapling only knows how to yield and bend in the wind.  It will continue to bend with the wind until it’s roots and trunk are strong enough to withstand.  We too must learn when it’s advantageous to bend and yield unto life and when we are sure and strong enough to stand against it.

Day 11

Affirmation:

I am grateful for positive changes in my life.

I stay in balance through change by consciously making time to be still, to release anxiety, and to breathe.

Even the very best changes can be overwhelming and cause us anxiety, and when we’re anxious we forget to breathe, we forget to pause.  Unreleased chronic tension can take it’s toll, even manifesting as pain and illness. It’s important during any time of change, to step away from it occasionally, doing nothing but focusing on being still, present and breathing deeply.

Day 10

Affirmation:

I am Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully alive.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully connected.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully in love.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully healthy.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully wealthy.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully on purpose.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully grateful.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully surrendered.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully MYSELF.

If passion is the divine spark, and bliss the divine breath, joy is the quality that animates them both, turning breath into the wind that feeds the spark into a fire.   Whatever we do today let’s do it with PASSION (divine enthusiasm ) BLISS (divine at-one-ness) and JOY (divine happiness).
