Day 135

Affirmation:

I embrace creativity as a divine expression.

I make time to engage my creative spirit.

I surrender to my creative potential, allowing creation to flow freely through me.

When I create, I am partnering with the divine energy of creation.

Creativity has many faces, some are more obvious, like art and music, while others are less so.  Activities like cooking, writing, building, designing, engineering, gardening, event planning and landscaping all engage creativity.   Even problem solving is a creative process.  We are all born creators and to create is to engage the creator spark within.  Making time to allow our creative nature to express is allowing ourselves time to be in harmony with the divine energy of creation .   When we are really comfortable in our creative moment, we can surrender our own thoughts and will, and allow the energy of creation to flow unimpeded.  In such states the unexpected comes forth from our spirits, with inspired and surprising results.

In a Perfect World…

Dear Readers and all of my amazing Subscribers,

I’ve been out of town – a retreat actually! – and had set up the site to auto-publish while I was away.  Well, somehow that didn’t happen and the articles seem to be missing as well.  Alas, in a perfect world these things wouldn’t happen but if we lived in a perfect world what would inspire me to write??  In the next few days I’ll have things back to normal and hopefully caught up, but till then I appreciate your understanding and certain compassion.

With *heart sighs*,

Elizabeth

Prayer of Thanks Giving

imagesLYG85YEVREPLAY Day 253
Affirmation:

We thank the Powers of Creation- the known and unknowable- that exist within each of us and in everything around us, for our existence and presence in the world today.

We give thanks for the abundance in our lives that is so often taken for granted-from the smallest, most forgettable to the gifts that sustain us.

We give thanks for connections– for people coming and going in our lives, for sharing, laughter, to support and to love. We also give thanks for the people who challenge our well being- those teachers who force us to reach inside and choose to be better than their example.

We are blessed with freedom while many are imprisoned, fullness while many hunger, peace while many know only war, and prosperity while many live in poverty.

We give thanks for all these blessings and for the Infinite Love that lights the paths of our journeys.

Allow Love to Express

Replay Day 208

365 Days of Inspiration

Day 208

Affirmation:

Today I intend to ~allow~ love to express fully in my relationships in both a freely giving and fully accepting manner.

                                   ___________________

Love is not a thing we create in our relationships, it’s the very thing that creates us in them. We don’t create love we ~ allow ~ love to express. And we allow it when we surrender ourselves to another with a defenseless and penetrable heart that is willing to give without limit and receive without demand.

Day 156

Affirmation:

I am grateful for this gift, disguised as a problem.

I know that I will be delivered from this gift to an even greater one, because I will accept nothing less.

Thank you.

                                                _______________________

A serious problem has presented itself.  It is something that, at first glance, might even feel too big to overcome.  The usual response to such a perceived threat is for the victim-mind of the ego to quickly take control.  When this happens we either feel defensive or suddenly powerless.  Powerlessness prompts feelings of panic or worry, with thoughts that begin, “How will I ever…” or “I can’t possibly…”   Defensiveness will give rise to anger, a need to attack, and thoughts that begin, “How dare they…”   While both of those responses are normal -from an ego-centered perspective- they are never in our best interest.  Responding from a healthy, empowered sense of self will always yield a better outcome.

Day 250

Read along with the video, allowing yourself to believe every word you hear yourself speak.

I created this daily affirmation as an expression of empowerment and gratitude for the love in our lives. Being aware of and grateful for the love that is always surrounding us and flowing forth from us, places us in better alignment with our own highest potential.

Day 249

Affirmation:

I trust and accept all the good things that make their way into my experience.

I trust and accept all the love offered me.

I trust and accept that peace and happiness are my birthright.

_____________________________________

We’ve all experienced it– that moment when we look for the imperfection in what appears to be flawless. It’s that split-second when our wounded, frightened emotional self rises up, takes the helm, and announces, “This is too good to be true.” When that moment happens our perspective shifts from open-hearted acceptance to fear-based faithlessness. The experience can spark a witch-hunt for reasons to doubt someone’s words or distrust their actions, no matter how full of integrity they truly are. Of course what we’re really hunting for are reasons to sabotage the flow of good in our lives, either to avoid being vulnerable or to validate the belief that we aren’t worthy. Whatever the underlying reason, if we allow ourselves to proceed with sirens blaring, looking for evidence to support our negative storytelling, our hearts will close up and close off what could be the best thing to ever happen to us. We will find completely erroneous reasons to push away the very things we deeply desire and yearn for, and “too good to be true,” will become “too good to let be true for me.”

Day 120

Affirmation:

Today and EVERY DAY I intend toward living a life in reverent beneficence to this planetary residence called “Mother Earth”.

                               _____________________________

The Earth is a living, breathing, pulsing manifestation of Light just as you and I are. She allows us to live upon her mantle and sup from the generous bounty of  her hearth.  She has given herself in service to humanity and we have repaid this generosity how?   Each of us has the ability to choose whether to continue to  be a parasite upon the planet, or live in a state of mutualism-benefitting both the earth and humanity.  It takes only one change in habits-recycling, giving up plastic water bottles, or using reusable shopping bags, for example- to make a change toward creating a healthier planet.   Let’s take one (or one more) step together, starting today.

Day 205

Affirmation:

When I have uncertainty, I reach for faith.

When I have worry, I reach for faith.

When I have apprehension, I reach for faith.

When I have no control, I reach for faith.

When I have no direction, I reach for faith.

              ________________

St. Paul wrote that faith is, “the evidence of things unseen, and the substance of things hoped for.”  Faith has the ability to promote a renewed sense of confidence and optimism, and faith is always at our disposal.  It is cultivated from within an open heart, where knowing and believing in goodness, grace and our connection to the Divine permanently dwell.  When actions are fruitless, thoughts are wayward, and weariness begins to take hold, draw on faith for the courage and strength to move beyond the uncertainty and into clarity.

Day 185

Affirmation:

I am grateful for the many freedoms I have in my life.

I take none for granted and appreciate every.

                        _________________

Freedom means different things to different people.  For the enslaved, freedom is liberation from oppression.  For the poor, freedom is liberation from want.  For the suffering, freedom might be liberation from physical life.   Regardless of the specific circumstances, freedom is always the result of a shift from limitation to limitlessness, and of being without a boundary.   Most of us have many freedoms that we unintentionally take for granted, such as the freedom to travel, the freedom to speak an opinion and the freedom to choose what to wear.  Often, the freedoms one has aren’t realized until they are taken away, as is the case for many who go on to live long lives, finding themselves no longer able to drive, live alone, or make basic daily living choices for themselves.   But we need not lose our freedoms to appreciate them.  Take a look around you today, noticing the freedoms you experience in your life.  Realize the great freedom of choice you have, from choosing when to wake to where to live.  Feel grateful today for every freedom you embrace.
