Day 89

Affirmation:

I keep my focus in the direction of my desires.

If we desire abundance but keep seeing lack everywhere we look, we need to turn and look in a different direction.  If we desire health but our attention is only on ailing, we must change our point of view.  We cannot experience, achieve, or manifest a desire if we’re looking in the direction of what we do not want.  And since we can only see in the direction we face, we must be facing that which we desire.  If we desire harmony, we must look in the direction of harmony rather than staring at discord.  If we wish to have a life we are grateful for, we must be seeing that which we are grateful for.  If we do not like what we’re seeing, we must change our position.

Day 69

Affirmation:

I let go my resistance to life’s natural rhythms and allow myself to be carried through change and growth.

I surrender my need to control every outcome and circumstance and allow life to unfold naturally.

I  surrender to faith.

I live with trust.

I let go.

Surrendering is not giving in or giving up, it is letting life unfold in its mysterious unbridled way, accepting that some things simply can’t be controlled.  When we surrender to life, we let go of our resistance – which pushes against the natural flow of things – and allow ourselves to become a part of the harmonious rhythm of the universe.  When we surrender, we throw our oars in the river and let the current carry us, acknowledging that sometimes we truly do not know what is best, but having faith that something greater than us does.  Surrendering is accepting the unacceptable, when there is no other choice.  Surrendering is accepting the inevitable as part of life’s journey, even if we don’t really want to.  Observe a leaf floating downstream, a hawk gliding on an air current, or a child going down a slide, and you are observing surrender.  Let’s know when to be the leaf, the hawk, the child, and let life carry us for a while.

Day 68

Affirmation:

My faith guides me when I’m uncertain.

My faith carries me when I am lost.

My faith helps me fulfill my dreams.

My faith is strong and solid.

My faith is sure.

Faith is the born of the union of hope and belief… Hope without belief is infertile.  Belief without hope is impotent.  But with both – a belief in possibilities and hope in their manifestation or truth – we cultivate FAITH.  And from faith flow inner peace and the flowering of potential.  Faith reminds us that there are paths being laid in front of us that we can’t yet see.  Faith assures us that there is always a silver lining waiting to be known.  True faith doesn’t just show up on sunny days, it is strong enough to weather all storms.   True faith doesn’t crumble like sand the moment the burden is too heavy, it bears the weight of our burdens like granite.

Day 60

Affirmation:

I rise above opportunities to express fear and anger.

I choose to respond to life with and from love.

I choose to be better than the examples others set.

I grow and evolve with life’s experiences.

I am my own hero.

One of life’s great lessons is to rise above and be better for our circumstances and trials.  We learn, grow and evolve when we take every experience – not just the good ones – and become better and more loving for them.  It can be easy to repeat the bad choices and behaviour others have modeled for us but the desirable way is to be better than those examples and to let them inspire us to greatness.  The easy path is to react to life’s difficulties with negative resistance; the desirable way is to respond to challenges with hope, faith, courage and optimism.  Some of our greatest heroes are those we see as having overcome formidable circumstances in order to rise to their highest potential.   We can all be our own heroes and heroines, being better – always better – for what life offers us.

Day 53

Affirmation:

I am stronger than I appear to be.

I am stronger than I think I am.

I am not yet as strong as I will be.

We may be physically small, weak, or feel challenged by our body, age, or intellect, but no matter what the perceived limitation, we are ALL stronger than we appear to be, and undeniably stronger than we think we are.   The strength I’m referring to  is inner strength, what we think of as courage, determination, fortitude, grace and integrity.   This inner strength has carried each of us through life’s storms.   It has given us the will to get out of bed when we all we want to do is hide under the covers.   Our strength allows us to stand up for others without a second thought.  It nudges us gently into relationships that are so good they scare us, and forcefully walks us away from those so bad they wound us.    Our inner strength allows us to face our fears, go for our goals, recover from pain, and express ourselves authentically.

Think of a time when you were sure you could not take another step in life,  a time when hope was nothing more than another 4-letter word.    Something propelled you out of the abyss.  What was it?  It wasn’t  the friend, book or doctor.  It was you.   Before anything external can help us move from misery to recovery, we must first reach the point of wanting better for ourselves and creating that space where better can be seeded.  And  it is inner strength that births that desire for better, allowing us to find or accept help.   Our strength never leaves us, no matter what happens to our bodies or our situations.  Not only is it a permanent part of our beings, it grows with each trial.   It reminds us that we’ve overcome before and will again.  It says, “If I could go through that, I can get through anything.”

Day 52

Affirmation:

I am flexible in my journey, how it unfolds and where it leads.

I am open to seeing new doors as they appear in front of me, walking through them if invited.

I let go my rigid expectations and create an open space of willingness to accept and receive the unexpected gifts of the Universe.

I allow my fixed dreams and desires to become malleable.

We all know someone who has stopped struggling toward a goal or desire, only to then achieve it.  Or let go of a dream, certain it would never be realized, only to then know something better or even more fulfilling.  Imagine how many people have missed out on great relationships, jobs, and experiences because those presented them didn’t match their criteria.  Life rarely offers the straight and well paved road to where we wish to be.  More often it’s filled with unexpected twists and turns, and blind corners that keep us guessing.  If we are willing to be flexible and open to the unknown, if we are willing to trust that there is a universal force at work in our lives that knows even better than we do how to reach our desired happiness, and if we surrender our small will to that force, miracles will happen. When we create a space of openness in our hearts and minds for the unknown and are willing to step forward and say YES to it, we make ourselves and our lives available for all that is beautiful, fulfilling and joy-full.

Day 51

Affirmation:

I choose a positive perspective no matter what my situation is.

If we see ourselves as victims of this world we cannot feel grateful for all that is right in our lives . If our focus is on what we perceive as lacking, we can not see all that we have. But when we come at life from the other side, seeing what we love and want and cherish and appreciate and learn from, we no longer see what we don’t want, don’t like, and don’t feel good about.  When our focus is on what is uplifting, we don’t see what brings us down.  When our hearts are feeling grateful for the plenty we do have, we aren’t giving attention to what we think is missing.   While in the midst of positive, limitless, hopeful thoughts, we are not having negative, limiting and doubting thoughts.  Having and maintaining a positive perspective changes everything because it changes everything.

Day 31

Affirmation:

I surrender all resistance and allow myself to be a natural part of the flow of life.

As a leaf upon the water… moving with the currents of the water and the wind, being connected to the flow but remaining above it.  There’s no need to paddle, anchor, fight the current, or resist the direction,  it’s much easier to move naturally along the path of least resistance. If we find ourselves stuck in a cove we can wait- knowing we’re there for a reason. If we bump into another leaf we can say hello- knowing our paths have crossed intentionally.  Without resistance we can flow through life with grace, faith and peace.

Day 26

Affirmation:

Each morning I begin again, alive with hope, determination, and courage.

I awaken to each day as if awakening to another incarnation.

Every new day delivers the promise of full potential.  Each morning is the start of a new, 24-hour lifetime.  No matter what setbacks or disappointments yesterday brought, a new day promises new opportunities and every chance to start again- in love, hope, courage, faith, determination, and empowerment.

Day 21

Affirmation:

There is no obstacle that can’t be overcome.

There is no problem without a solution.

I will not be diminished by my circumstances.

As frustrating as roadblocks in life can be, there are none that can’t be overcome.  If met with an obstacle in our path we can look for ways around, over, or even under it.  If still no solution is apparent, we can seek Divine guidance and trust that a way to handle the situation will reveal itself.  Most of the time we don’t really need to rush to find an answer – though we might think we do – and forcing one is rarely helpful in the long-term . Remember, if we worry or fight against a problem we only create resistance to finding a positive outcome but if we can approach it with an empowered and calm surety we create an opening for a solution to be known and a way forward to be shown.

Day 16

Affirmation:

I see miracles everywhere.

I see all miracles as created equal.

I am humbled and awed by the miracles of life and existence that are all around me.

I welcome all miracles into my experience.

I am grateful for the miracles in my life.

There are no small miracles.  There are no big miracles.  To the universal font of creation a life-saving healing is no bigger or greater an occurrence than a fortuitous encounter on the street.   Creation does not know the limits of more and less because creation It-self is limitless.  All creation is equally meaningful to its Creator.  Humans assign degrees of importance, worth, and value to acts of creation because we think in terms of judgment, limitation and duality.  The Universe does not.  From a non-physical perspective, every encounter, every birth, every happenstance, every synchronicity, every bit of support made manifest is just as grand and meaningful as every other.

We don’t have to limit ourselves and our thinking either. We can learn to think like the Universe.  The job, the relationship, the healing, the purpose, the resources, the human being, the ant, the quiet moment, the parking space up front, the coupon for free gas, the feather, and the cloud can all be embraced equally without measuring one against the other.  When we view our experiences and the world as independent of  all else – without comparing or thinking of bigger or smaller, lesser or greater- we see each as meaningful and miraculous- period.

Day 14

Affirmation:

I am ever grateful to a Universe that never fails to ensure I have support.

I am grateful to those who show up in my life to help me overcome challenges and sort through life’s confusion.

I walk my journey always with the support of at least one other loving soul, to whom I am grateful.

This brilliant, loving, Divine Universe never allows us to find ourselves in the middle of an issue, struggle, challenge, obstacle, difficulty, trauma or heartache without ensuring that we have at least one human companion to help us through.  That person may be a stranger with sage wisdom or brute strength, or it may be a beloved with time to listen.  They may be in our lives only to help us through that problem, or they might be or become a lifelong friend.  We may feel totally and utterly alone in the world, but there is always someone, somewhere in our experience, who is there specifically to help.  The key is to allow our earth angel into our experience.  We can’t be so stuck in feelings of isolation that we do not see or hear their presence.  They are there, waiting for us to give them an opening.  No matter how hard life gets, remember- somewhere in the world is at least one person, sent and ready to help, when we are ready to receive.

Day 10

Affirmation:

I am Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully alive.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully connected.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully in love.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully healthy.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully wealthy.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully on purpose.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully grateful.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully surrendered.

I am  Passionately, Bliss-fully, and Joy-fully MYSELF.

If passion is the divine spark, and bliss the divine breath, joy is the quality that animates them both, turning breath into the wind that feeds the spark into a fire.   Whatever we do today let’s do it with PASSION (divine enthusiasm ) BLISS (divine at-one-ness) and JOY (divine happiness).

Day 182

Affirmation:

I trust my gut.

I listen to my inner wisdom.

I heed the mental red flags.

I pay attention to my intuition.

              _____________

The inner guidance system operates through non-sensory channels.  It’s a feeling or a nudge, a sense of something that doesn’t arise from the brain, and the little voice whispering from a shoulder.  If you’ve ever walked into a room and felt uneasy for no visible reason- that’s your inner guidance.  If you’ve ever met someone with whom you felt immediately and inexplicably comfortable- that’s your inner guidance.  If you’ve ever felt the overwhelming need to call someone, go back home and check on something, or divert from your normal route- that’s your inner guidance.  Very often our inner guidance is ignored because it seems illogical, unnecessary or without basis in fact, but sometimes the facts are a mystery to us.  Our inner beings,  higher selves, and those non-physical beings who guide and support us, use that inner guidance to help us stay on our path, and the more we take notice and trust the feelings, the more we begin to see just how amazing and abundant the support is.  It is our direct link to the Divine. Start getting used to listening to your feelings, begin trusting them a little more each day, even if they don’t make sense, and see just how beautifully the universe operates when we allow ourselves to flow in the rhythm of the sublime.   Next time you have a feeling about something, follow it, act on it, see where it leads.  Don’t over think, don’t analyze, just start the process of trusting and be a part of the magic, by choice.

Day 95

Affirmation:

I take daily walks with The Divine.

                       ________

When I am experiencing love, I am walking with my Source.  When I see beauty, feel compassion, place my trust in faith, or feel joy, I am walking with The Presence.  When I love, love other humans, love the planet, or love a piece of music, I am walking with Divinity.   Any and every time I am experiencing love or any expression of love, I am walking hand-in-hand with God.   Today I begin the habit of being aware of this daily communion.

Day 52

Affirmation:

I live free from fear and its many expressions.

I am safe, loved, and my future secured in faith and positive affirmation.

I replace all doubts with certainty and  gratitude for all that is right and abundant in my life.

                                                   ________________

Last night I went to bed overwhelmed with appreciation and humbled by the beautiful course my life is on and all the loving support I am wrapped in.  I woke this morning unnerved and apprehensive, little questioning doubts creeping into my mind.  Life is good and my delightful ego, doing its job so well, recognized the risk in such a state– it might not last, it might all collapse, it might turn sour, something might go wrong.  Risk usually comes with fear and fear always bring forth the ego which seeks to protect the self from any threat.  I sat and embraced the risk, eliminated the fear (replacing it with faith and positive beliefs) and breathed again in gratitude for the abundance, love, and joy that are here now.  Life can always collapse around us at any moment.  Sometimes it’s even necessary and proper that it do so, but sometimes it does so only because (over time) our fears of collapse have created it.   Accept risk without fear, replace doubt with certainty,  and live in gratitude for what is here and now.

Day 35

Affirmation:

I surrender to the mystery of not-knowing how things will turn out.

I let go my need to have certainty and control.

                        _____________

None of us can know with any certainty what tomorrow may bring.  The best we can do is count on it arriving and then let ourselves be accepting of the unknown.  In a world where ‘taking control’ and ‘being in charge’ are held in esteem, it can be hard to accept the I-don’t-know factor that is innate to life.  Choosing and acting upon our choices is necessary but so is allowing things to unfold in their most natural, resistant free way.   The mysteries of life were once held sacred, revered as those conditions where everything and nothing resides, where the Divine resides.  It would serve humanity well to again embrace the mystery of not-knowing as a sacred trust placed in the heart of God.  When we surrender that need to know and the need to control, we allow ourselves a rare chance to breathe, minds free, hearts open.  We can experience the natural rhythms of life as they move thru us.   When we surrender to the mystery we find serenity, comfort, and ease.   Today I will catch myself having controlling, need-to-know thoughts and immediately release them.  I will feel the pressure leave me, as my head lightens, my shoulders drop and my stomach relaxes.   I will allow my grasp to be freed and give (at least one) of those reins to the Universe to hold.
